It was announced in the fall of 2019 that Representative Sensenbrenner will not be seeking reelection when his seat is up for grabs in 2020. I like to believe that public pressure caused his resignation. Indeed, his departure is one of many amongst GOP members whose fleeing from Congress since President Trump’s election has been widely notes. It’s a nasty job – these days, more than ever – and it’s hard to blame these politicians for exiting the miasma of dread that permeates the capital.
